Reducing the midsection of our bodies is a challenge for many people. The best starting point towards achieving that goal is a healthy diet, but when you join them with good abdominal muscle exercises, then you are on your way to faster results!
The exercises I propose here are designed for that purpose. They are also perfect for people who are beginning in the abs exercises world, so feel free to try them out as a beginner. If you find these exercises too easy, you can try more challenging exercises. Remember that when performing these movements to do it slowly and with total control of your muscles. Also don’t forget to talk first with a professional and warm up to avoid injury.
Vertical Leg Crunch
A variation of the common crunch designed to reduce stomach fat. Lie on your back on the floor, using a mat to cushion your spine. Hands behind the head. Lift both your legs into the air crossing them at the ankles and slightly bending the knees. Lift your shoulder, head and upper back using abs contractions to a 30 degree angle. Do not use your hands to help.
Long Arm Crunch
Lie on your back wit your knees bent so your feet are flat on the surface. Straight your arms as you are reaching something above your head. With the power of your abs, lift your head, shoulders and upper back, hold, and then slowly lower to the starting position.
Reverse Crunch
Keeping yourself on your back and with the aid of a towel put your hands to the sides of your body with your palms up, facing the ceiling. Put your legs in the air at a 90 degree angle, with your knees unbent. Contract your abs by pulling your bellybutton towards your spine while at the same time lifting your hips a few inches off the ground. Hold.
Slowly go back to the starting point of the exercise. Total control is key. These are pretty simple exercises you can integrate today in your daily life. Just do them and stick to these abdominal muscle exercises for a couple of week and you’ll start seeing results.
